A Day at the Uphill Village Scarecrow Festival

September 28th, 2008

After a late night (and a few too many babychams!) me and the kids headed off to our local village, Uphill, where they were having a Scarecrow Festival. We were met by the sight of the Mr Men in a field, well done to year one and two children from Uphill Primary School for those!

If you would like to take a look at the photos we took click on images in the menu, or if you cant be bothered to go all the way over there, click here instead!

We trodded around the village, meeting loads of familiar faces along the way and finally being invited in to St Nicholas Church for a Cream Tea, lovely! I would like to say thank you to all the staff at the church who made the day an exceptionally good one, providing hot tea and squash for the children and magnificent home made scones with clotted cream and jam, mmmm. And they put it all on for free making the day a truly great one. We will definitately be going back next Sunday at 10.30am as they are having a family harvest service, looking forward to that!

P.S. I would just like to point out that the kids didn’t have any babychams!

A week to get organised!

Well there I was on Tuesday, thinking how I was going to drum up some more business by expanding my horizons, when I had an email from Sally at The Princes Trust, asking me if I would like to attend a Trade Fair at The Marriot Hotel. A Trade Fair, moi?? I paused for a moment with my inner child going “no way!” and trying to wriggle out of it. But hang on, this may be a real opportunity for me, especially as that lady from points west, Lisa Aziz is going to be there interviewing poor unsuspecting new business people.

So I have agreed to do the trade fair, yes it will be fun. Whats the worst thing that could happen?……

I would also like to add that I have joined this really amazing site called Ecademy, its a networking site, you can join for free and theres loads of people who are members from all over the world, all walks of life and all kinds of diverse business types. If you, like me, need to “get out more” then its a much more worthwhile networking site than Facebook or Myspace. Well for business contacts anyway!

Hello, welcome!

Hi and welcome to my first post on my new website, called the washing line. Here will be a nice calm, tranquil place to set my ideas aside to air. Its also a place where you can do the same, maybe get feedback on your projects, just generally put your feet up and enjoy the atmosphere. So grab yourself a cup of tea and a buscuit, and get friendly.
