Yellow Poppadum Dip Recipe!
The other day I was making a curry and I thought it would be good if I could find a recipe for that yellow minty dip that you get in an Indian take away. I searched for ages and it soon became apparent that there was some confusion over what exactly was in this mystery dip. Some people seemed to think it may be egg yolks and not yoghurt in the recipe as yoghurt tends to be thicker than the consistency of the dip
Well I am pleased to announce that I have uncovered the secret recipe. I made it and it turned out really good, very tasty!
What you need:
1 Lemon
Plain Yoghurt (about a mugfull)
Fresh Mint (or mint sauce if you haven’t got any fresh)
4 Tablespoons of Mango Chutney
1/4 teaspoon of Turmeric (mixed in a bit of water)
What you need to do:
Mix the turmeric in a little water.
Put the yoghurt, mint, lemon juice and mango chutney in the blender.
Add the turmeric water.
Whizz it all up then let it settle in a bowl.
Enjoy with freshly made poppadums!
